PRESS RELEASE

LOCAL BLOGGER LAUNCHES ORGANIZATION FOR

BLOGGERS, INFLUENCERS, AND CONTENT CREATORS

Sacramento, Calif. (April 6, 2017) — Kachet Jackson-Henderson of The Lipstick Giraffe is excited to announce the launch of The Blog Bloc, a business organization for bloggers and influencers in the Sacramento region.

Realizing there is a lack of resources in the blogger and content creation space at a localized level, Jackson-Henderson created The Blog Bloc to bridge the gap and offer resources to Sacramento’s premier social influencers. The Blog Bloc promotes fellowship, collaboration and skill-sharing with bi-weekly strategy sessions, monthly mixers, and quarterly learning events. The Blog Bloc also works as a resource for businesses big and small to leverage influencers in marketing outreach.

With nearly five years of building her personal brand and blog, as well as her professional background in the world of marketing and communications, Jackson-Henderson is no stranger to larger national blogging organizations and agencies.

“An influencer marketing agency once told me that I needed to strengthen a certain area of my brand, but failed to point me in the right direction of what resources I needed to utilize or put me in touch with a real life contact I could learn from. The advice of this network felt flat, impersonal, and a little bit counterintuitive to being a member,” says Jackson-Henderson. A few weeks later, the idea to start an organization in the town that made her who she is today, came to fruition and The Blog Bloc was born.

With a localized approach, Jackson-Henderson feels that her efforts will build a collective of influencers that feel empowered and ready to take on, and overcome the challenges that lie ahead in this field.

“One member may have worked with a large brand and received great compensation but has zero design skills, and another may be really great at fine-tuning their website but not the best negotiator,” says Jackson-Henderson. “I wanted to start an organization where members could learn from each other, put what they’ve learned to practice, and as a result, we will all grow together.”

Since many bloggers and influencers are not making a sustainable income from their efforts, a reasonable fee was the organization’s number one priority. Membership dues are just $10 a month for the inaugural year. But, The Blog Bloc doesn’t stop at serving bloggers and influencers. The organization hopes to support local and national brands, de-mystify influencer marketing, and become a resource for those looking to partner with some of Sacramento’s finest.

The Blog Bloc will formally celebrate its launch with sponsor The HOTEL Bar on Thursday, April 27 from 6-8pm. For more information about The Blog Bloc and to join, visit theblogbloc.com. To purchase tickets to the launch party, visit TBBlaunchparty.eventbrite.com.
